Peak Design Pouch

The thing I love about products from Peak Design is that they all work together. By far, my favorite Peak Design product is their Slide camera strap. It’s incredibly comfortable, well built, and so easy to adjust you find yourself adjusting it just for fun. I was excited to see the same strap technology employed in their new bag endorsed by Trey Ratcliff: The Everyday Messenger Bag.

But this review isn’t about that bag. This review is about the little brother to The Everyday Messenger, a fun little accessories bag called The Field Pouch.

Peak Design Pouch

The field pouch is one of those products that you didn’t really know you needed until you have it and now it’s hard to live without it. It attaches in all the right places with either Peak Design’s quick-release anchor links, or heavy duty belt loops for fanny pack style carry. I currently have it attache to the Slide Lite strap which is perfect for messenger bag style carry.

The same attention to detail and quality craftsmanship that I’ve come to expect from Peak’s products is also present in Pouch, which is cool considering it almost feels like an afterthought product to the Everyday Messenger Bag. I do wonder if Pouch came into existence as way to use some of the excess material leftover from the manufacturing process of the Everyday Messenger. Even if that is the case, it’s obvious that just as much thought and love was put into this bag as it’s bigger brother.

The roll top flap that acts as the top of the bag is brilliantly designed for lighter or heavier loads. You can fold it all the way down for a more compact fit, or use the top velcro attachment point if you have a lot to carry.

The bag can hold quite a bit of stuff. I’ve started hauling my wireless mic and sound recorder in it, along with random chargers, batteries, and other loose items. In belt loop mode I can see it coming in quite handy during an upcoming rock climbing shoot I’m planing. The inside is lined with soft felt and there are plenty of dividers, zipper compartments and mesh pockets to store your memory cards, extra batteries, passport, chargers, phone, wallet, headphones, or anything you want to keep in once place.

For only $39.95 if you need something to hold all those random loose items, or even a extra lens or travel camera, take a look at The Field Pouch, by Peak Design.
