If you photograph outdoors at all you’ll know that sometimes the sky just doesn’t cooperate. Ideally, you’ll setup your shot during golden hour, get the perfect composition, great light, dramatic clouds and the perfect shot. But life is rarely ideal. More often than not I find myself having to get the best shot I can with a less than stellar sky in the background.
In fact, unless you are shooting around sunrise, sunset or on a cloudy day, it’s common for the sky to be completely blown out. In this tutorial I’ll show you how I like to replace a sky in Adobe Photoshop to achieve a more interesting image.
